Baby Food

Yummy Spoonfuls Review and Giveaway {CLOSED}

6:49 AM

***GIVEAWAY CLOSED***

My son LOVES to eat. He is not a picky eater like Hannah was though...he eats just about everything that is fed to him. I have definitely taken my time introducing solids to him; more so than with his sister. That first baby is the guinea pig really. I was so eager to try everything on Hannah! Poor child. :) She has such an aversion to chunky foods now...I think that is because I fed her pureed foods for so long. Jacob seems to be more of a chunky food eater and the reason may be because I am making my own baby food now and it is lumpier and not as smooth as the store bought stuff. Either way, my babies LOVE to eat and Jacob is one chunky monkey!
Recently I was surfing the web and came across a company that had some really neat baby food. It wasn't your ordinary baby food though. Yummy Spoonfuls is a company that makes FRESH and organic baby food meals. It comes to you frozen and that is how you store it...in the freezer! I was really interested in this company because that is how I store my home-made baby food too! It keeps so well and is really handy.
Yummy Spoonfuls was founded by Agatha Achindu...a business woman who strongly believes in educating parents on nutritional beginnings for their children. Here is more of her story, and of her marvelous company...

Yummy SpoonfulsTM began in the kitchen of wife, mother, businesswoman, and founder Agatha Achindu. Agatha Achindu would best be described as a nutrition enthusiast. Agatha is a strong believer in the old adage, "When you know better you do better", so she is passionate about educating parents on the importance of introducing their children to healthy eating at the earliest stages of life. In addition to being a mom and the CYO (Chief Yummy Officer) of Yummy SpoonfulsTM, Agatha dedicates her time to developing workshops and traveling across the country offering parenting groups healthy eating seminars.

All organic baby foods are not created equally. Yummy Spoonfuls™ baby foods are 100% Organic, 100% of the Time! Every container with the Yummy Spoonfuls™ brand is made from scratch with all natural ingredients. Our products are free of the following: salt, preservatives, gluten, dairy, additives, sugars and/or fillers. All foods are flash-frozen to lock in every possible nutrient for your child’s developing body.

Each mouthful tastes as good as it looks ~ and will be beyond your expectations. Using only
the freshest ingredients for your growing infant or toddler. With twenty-five distinctive, flavorful
combinations currently available, our company offers a wide array of products for your
child’s budding palate.

What I really love about Yummy Spoonfuls is their commitment to quality and freshness. I was very excited to be able to review this company and their products!
For this review I was sent 9 meals...and like I said previously, they came frozen. I LOVE this because they are so fresh and I don't have the pantry space for jars and jars of food. So, this was perfect for me.
Yummy Spoonfuls has several different stages when it comes to their meals. Yummy Spoonfuls stages are: Creamy Yummy (4-9 months), Mushy Yummy (9-12 months), Chunky Yummy (12+ months). I just love the names. :) The meals that I was sent for this review were:

Organic Carrot, Sweet Potatoes & Broccoli (Mushy Yummy)
Organic Pears (Creamy Yummy)
Organic Peas (Creamy Yummy)
Organic Adzuki Beans Porridge (Chunky Yummy)
Organic Butternut Squash and Apple (Mushy Yummy)
Organic Apple (Creamy Yummy)
Organic Apricot & Brown Rice (Mushy Yummy)
Organic Blueberry and Banana Cereal (Mushy Yummy)
Organic Lentil & Carrot Porridge (Chunky Yummy)
So, I was excited to have my little guy try some of these out! For dinner I first tried to serve him the Organic Lentil & Carrot Porridge. Ohhhh no....too chunky for him. He kept gagging on the beans, so I put that one away. I tasted it though and it was wonderful! He quickly declined any further spoonfuls of that one.
Then, I tried the Organic Blueberry and Banana Cereal. This he LOVED! It was a great texture and super fresh. I am so amazed at the bright colors of Yummy Spoonfuls meals. The nice thing about their meals is that (for me) one container can last several meals. Jacob eats a variety of things with his dinner so he doesn't fill up on just one thing.

Today, Jacob has been enjoying the Organic Carrot, Sweet Potatoes and Broccoli meal; along with the Organic Pears for dessert. He really loves these combinations and I love feeding them to him as I know they are SO good for him!
(Jacob enjoying his Blueberry and Banana Cereal...the food on his forehead is the not-so-loved Lentil and Carrot Porridge.)

Yummy Spoonfuls can be purchased at specialty retailers (complete listing found HERE) as well as on Amazon. The price on Amazon is varied, but purchasing a 12-pack will cost approximately $40-$54...depending on which foods you get. For me, this price is a bit steep but if you are committed to going TOTALLY organic...Yummy Spoonfuls is for you.
So, in my opinion...Yummy Spoonfuls is a wonderful company! I am very impressed with the freshness of the meals I was sent and the full flavor as well. This is definitely a product that stands out from all the rest I have tried. My son loved the veggie and fruit combinations and gobbled everything up...except the chunky meal. I really love what Yummy Spoonfuls has to offer and recommend them to you all...great company. :)

Yummy Spoonfuls would love to give away a $24.00 Gift Certificate for their products to one of you! Here is your chance to get some healthy food for your babies...completely free! Here are your easy entry options...
